Hobbies and Interests: Water & Ice Pokémon, old fashion trends (hence the pants ^^), inventing new recipes
Favorite Likes: Water & Ice Pokémon, the ocean, swimming, cooking
And Dislikes: Bad food, being told what to do, being embarassed, being made fun of, being shy
Physical Appearance:
A mass of blonde sits upon his head, a little tuft occasionally sticking up on the top of his head. His hair is thick, which makes it seem like his hair is shorter than it really is. Ocean-blue eyes glimmer, and it sometimes seems like the ocean itself is alive in Rody's eyes, but then he blinks and it's all gone. Rody spends a lot of time ouside and in the sun, but he doesn't tan, and his skin remains a light peach-ish color. He's a shorter than other boys his age, 4'11", and maintains a healthy weight. He builds muscle by swimming around Cinnabar Island every day. Rody's voice hasn't lowered yet, so he has a slightly feminine voice.
The first thing people notice about his clothes are his pants. Rod enjoys old fashion trends, and sports them boldly. Faded flare jeans come down over the tongue of his shoes. The bottom of the pant legs sometimes get muddy or dirty from being stepped on. They're supported by an antique-looking black belt with a fair-sized silver buckle. A plain white short-sleeved t-shirt emphasizes the lighter blue sleeveless vest over it, the collar up. And finally, bright blue sneakers cover his puny size five feet.
Personality:
Rod is a kind, caring boy, but he's a bit sensitive. He was teased at school because of his fashion style, his high-ish voice, and any other flaw they could dig up. Then he'd go home, hoping to escape from it all...and just be made fun of and laughed until he was asleep, and before he even awoke. He tried to toughen up, but it was useless. He was insulted day, night, and every time in between, and that must be impossible to stand. That's one of the reasons he's so shy, because he's afraid people will make fun of him if he even looks at him, especially girls. That's why he's afraid of them. (xD) Sticks and stones could break his bones, and words used in a certain way can definately hurt.
Rody's sensitivity is one reason why he is friends with more Pokémon than people. They can't insult him or make fun of him, and they were good listeners. He would play with them, cook for them, talk to them, and just be with them. The boy would go to his secret hideaway and be with the Pokémon. He came to prefer water and ice Pokémon because of their intelegence and grace, wishing he could be free of worries and cares like them.
History/Background:
Rod was born the youngest of three brothers, Jacob and Tyler in Goldenrod City. Jacob was five when Rod was born, and Tyler four. They were always bigger and stronger than he was, overpowering the poor kid. And worst of all, his parents hardly paid attention to him at all. They were always cooing on how handsome Jacob and Tyler were, and looked at Rody with dismay. All of his family had brown hair, and he stuck out like a sore thumb with his blonde hair.
When Rodson was nine years old, he heard something his parents said that would change his life forever. It was late at night, when everyone was supposed to be asleep. Rod had to go to the bathroom, so he slipped out of the room he shared (more like was 'trapped in') with his two older brothers and down the hallway. As he passed his parent's bedroom door, he heard this little sentence: "...Rodson might not be our child..." This made his heart almost stop beating. And the thing that scared him most was because it might be true.
The next year, Rody went missing. His brothers went on like nothing ever happened, but his parents were devastated, all of a sudden. Officer Jenny and some others searched the house for clues, and noticed that some of his clothes, his favorite stuffed Teddiursa, and a sleeping bag were missing, too. The only thing that sounded rational was that he had run away. Jacob and Tyler laughed, while Mrs. Cook cried.
A week later, he was found again, in Cinnabar City, very far from Goldenrod, living with the wild Pokémon. He was taken back home, where he was tortured and disappointed his parents again. But they did notice him, now. They saw how upset he seemed to be away from Cinnabar Island, and he seemed sickly to be in such a crowded place. So, they moved.
Life went on as usual, but this time, Rod had places to hide. He later got interested in swimming, and continued to cook, which he had learned to do when he lived with the wild Pokémon a month before. He visited the Pokémon daily, until he couldn't stand it much longer. Rody asked if he could go on a Pokémon journey. His brothers laughed at him, but his parents agreed that he was better off on his own. So he got the first available ship to Moon Forest, with a smile on his usually solemn face.
